OHH Thank you Grandma!!
Today I decided to go to the old building where my Grandparents lived. They used to own a grocery and feed store out in the Country, they also had a house built in the building. This building is at least 17,000 sq feet and full of stuff!! I have been storing a lot of my things there since I moved to Oklahoma. I needed to go there and pick up a few things to redesign some of the goodies that I bought. I also wanted to rummage thru some of the things that my Grandparents left to see what was all there. My Grandma kind of lost her mind about 15 years ago when she started reading the enquirers magazine. She pretty much believed everything she read in them. So she had this crazy idea that the ice age was going to come among other things. My Grandma was Mrs Fashionista in her day. She was always making or buying the most trendy things and you could see it in her old photos. She had to pretty much get out of that lifestyle when she moved to the small town of Mountain Home, AR about 40 years ago. She lived on a farm, so didnt have much reasons to dress up. It had to be a major change after moving from Japan where she lived her whole life, to Mountain Home. I can kind of see why she went crazy! Anyway, she decided she needed to pack up a bunch of clothes and other things for when the ice age came. She had planned on building an underground house for us all to live and she was going to store all these things there until it came. Well She never got to build it, but she did leave closets full of clothing and about 200 boxes full of clothing that was ALREADY vintage 15 years ago when she packed them. I had no idea what I was going to find, or how good of condition they would be in since they have been packed in boxes for 15 years. To my surprise many of the things were still in amazing shape, there were some things that were on the top or bottom that were amazing, but got ruined :( But I have found some unique, amazing, vintage clothing that I cannot wait to share. I will be posting them on Etsy as soon as I get them all cleaned up and do a little research on them. Im sooooo excited and I cant wait for everyone to see all the goodies I found..Keep an eye out on my Etsy store...
